ABBOTSFORD – The City of Abbotsford has launched a new tool to help residents stay informed through their mobile devices with the new City Services app, @Abbotsford.
Residents can now connect with the City remotely through the @Abbotsford CityApp. The @Abbotsford CityApp allows users to report issues, connect with Mayor and Council, view amenities and directions for parks, trails and bike routes, find facility contact information, and stay up-to-date on community events, leisure activities and road closures.
The “Report an Issue” feature provides efficient access to report issues residents may find around the City, such as streetlight repairs, potholes and road maintenance, illegal dumping, parks and tree maintenance and missed curbside collection. The @Abbotsford CityApp will pinpoint the exact GPS location of the issue and provide the user options to add a picture to help describe the issue, which will enable City staff to respond more efficiently to service calls.
The @Abbotsford CityApp also connects with the existing CurbCollect app. This app for curbside collection allows residents to view their collection schedules and access the Waste Wizard, an online search feature for waste disposal.
The @Abbotsford CityApp also provides up to date information on road closures, community events, and pulls in the City of Abbotsford social media feeds so information is readily available in one platform.
The app is available for free download in the App Store and Google Play.
